Wayfarer

Marked by immunity to magic in a world that prizes it, Wayfarers travelled the continent of Rhesainia, protecting its people from horrifying beasts and enchantments gone awry. But their Order, once strong, is now broken and torn asunder. Their destruction left behind only a handful of survivors still bound by their creed. 

You are one such survivor. 

When your mercenary work backs you into a corner, you take the only option available and accept a contract: to travel to the city of Velantis and steal an ancient artefact. Simple, right? But the city holds far more than you bargained for. Navigate rival factions, meddling guilds, and escalating political tensions as you unravel the mystery at the core of who and what you are, and discover a secret that will shake the foundation of this very world. 

Wayfarer is a dark fantasy interactive fiction game. With the storytelling of a novel, the player choice of an RPG, and the dice mechanics of a tabletop game, it is a unique experience that changes with every playthrough. Create and customize your character, choose your skills, and navigate hundreds of branching choices as you journey through the city of Velantis. 

The game is in development and releases episodically. 

This public release includes the Prologue, Episode 1 & Episode 2.

• Customize your Wayfarer, including their gender, pronouns, appearance, and more!
• Select from six unique ancestries and five unique origins that will inform your Wayfarer’s background and journey
• Meet the seven companions who will shape your Wayfarer’s life, cultivate (or destroy) your relationships with them, and perhaps even find love (or pure unadulterated hate)
• Build or dismantle your rapport with the six factions vying for control of Velantis and determine the city’s fate
• Engage with skill checks and dice rolls—your successes and failures will shift how the story proceeds
• Encounter timed choices on key decisions where every second counts!
• Navigate thousands of branching choices for a unique, re-playable experience and story

Your choices mean everything.

To learn the most about the world and your character, replays are recommended. Explore different options, make different choices, embrace both success and failure—you never know where your path will lead!

Wayfarer is rated MA-17 for violence, blood and gore, death, strong language, sexually suggestive themes, and drug and alcohol use.

Save Files

This is an HTML5 game and saves to your browser. If your browser clears its cache or history, your saves will be lost. It is highly recommended that you make saves independent of your browser by saving them to your device with Save to Disk. They can be uploaded to the game with Load from Disk.

Idrelle Games is the studio name of AM Morrigan (she/they), a solo developer and playwright based in Canada. After falling in love with video game storytelling, her goal became to create rich, interactive stories where choices do matter—and to make the kind of game she would love to play.
